COURSE OVERVIEW

Sun, Sand, Sea and Culture. The travel industry is one of the most exciting, diverse and engaging industries to work in and its all waiting for your learning journey. The Level 1 Certificate is a great starting point to learn about the industry.

As part of your program you will have an opportunity to go on several trips including London, Brighton and the major tourist attractions in the UK to expand knowledge.

All of your tutors worked within the Travel and Tourism for years before becoming a teacher. They are all eager to share the knowledge and experience with you and are looking forward to supporting you on your journey.

Every learner at Crawley College who is under 19 will undertake a personal Study Program designed to develop them academically, practically and personally.

  • Subject Course – Vocational or chosen academic subject, usually studied for 12 – 16 hours a week.
  • English and Maths – Every learner will work towards GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths or Functional Skills. Learners who have already achieved a Grade 4 or C will extend their English and Maths through in-class activities.

You will have specific time in your timetable for each of the three elements above and you will be expected to attend all elements throughout the year. Study program are designed to help you meet your maximum potential and progress to the next level of study or into work.

Entry onto this course is subject to achieving one or more of the following.

  • 4x GCSEs at grade 2 including English and Maths or 4x GCSE at grade
  • Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS

Step 1

Set Up Your Account

You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Step 2

Apply

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
