Sun, Sand, Sea and Culture. The travel industry is one of the most exciting, diverse and engaging industries to work in and its all waiting for your learning journey. The Level 1 Certificate is a great starting point to learn about the industry.
You will develop important transferable skills to support your progression and personal growth.

As part of your program you will have an opportunity to go on several trips including London, Brighton and the major tourist attractions in the UK to expand knowledge.
All of your tutors worked within the Travel and Tourism for years before becoming a teacher. They are all eager to share the knowledge and experience with you and are looking forward to supporting you on your journey. Every learner at Crawley College who is under 19 will undertake a personal Study Program designed to develop them academically, practically and personally.
- Subject Course – Vocational or chosen academic subject, usually studied for 12 – 16 hours a week.
- English and Maths – Every learner will work towards GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths or Functional Skills. Learners who have already achieved a Grade 4 or C will extend their English and Maths through in-class activities.
You will have specific time in your timetable for each of the three elements above and you will be expected to attend all elements throughout the year. Study program are designed to help you meet your maximum potential and progress to the next level of study or into work.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Entry onto this course is subject to achieving one or more of the following.
- 4x GCSEs at grade 2 including English and Maths or 4x GCSE at grade
- Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
Once you have successfully completed all elements of your course including work experience you will be able to continue your studies by studying either,
- Level 2 Air Cabin Crew Certificate
- Level 2 Travel and Tourism Certificate
You will be assessed using assignments which are individually marked and one online exam at the end of your course, roleplays, PowerPoint presentations, and a short multiple choice questions paper.
You will be required to purchase a tourism uniform, folders and pens. Uniform will be discussed during interview and induction.
