COURSE OVERVIEW
Crawley College offers you a versatile and flexible way to achieve Higher Education qualifications in the Computing. Equivalent to the first two years of a university course, the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing for England will develop knowledge and skills for a career in computing. The course offers you a vocational progression route to higher level study offering an exciting variety of units that focus on all areas of the computing industry. The course is designed f to build your programming and data analysis as well as your academic skills required for progression to a full degree programme. Studying the HNC in year 1 and HND in year 2 provides a more open and flexible route towards a full bachelor’;s degree, where you can secure a higher level qualification at the end of each year as you progress, save money in the process and remain local.
Our HND Computing for England course is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), developed in collaboration with industry employers and aligned with current industry standards. This course is approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’;s Occupational Standards, ensuring you receive a qualification that meets the demands of the IT sector.

FURTHER INFORMATION
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have one of the following.
You will need to have a combination of GCE A levels, or BTEC Level 3 Diploma/ Extended Diplomas or equivalent qualifications, preferably in a computing subject.
GCSE Mathematics and English Language are preferred at grade 4 or above.
Level 3 Diploma in Computing with at least a merit
A suitable level 3 apprenticeship in Computing.
Appropriate work-based knowledge and competency.
Students completing the course can consider a level 6 top-up at a university or employment in the IT sector.
Assessment will be through assignments. Each outcome or module will be assessed by a project-style assignment.
These will be written assignment and may include reports, presentations, essays and will include a Research project in year 2.
There are 15 units in total for the HND
The method of assessment has been designed to encourage continuous written and verbal feedback throughout the course to ensure the highest grade attainable for each unit in conjunction with the highest quality education
The course tuition fee is £6,800 per year.
