What are Skills Bootcamps?

Skills Bootcamps are flexible, intensive training programmes lasting up to 16 weeks, designed for adults (aged 19 and over) to develop sector-specific skills and fast-track career progression.

Developed in collaboration with employers to ensure that they meet industry needs, Skills Bootcamps provide structured, practical training and support to help adults gain the skills and confidence needed to take the next step in their career.

Skills Bootcamps currently available at Crawley College – Multi-Trades.

Multi-Trade Construction Skills Bootcamps

Our practical Multi-Trades Skills Bootcamps are ideal for anyone considering a career in the construction industry. You will gain hands-on experience in essential trade skills including Carpentry, Bricklaying and basic repairs, while learning modern construction methods and developing essential trade skills.

The course also includes key industry requirements such as the NOCN Level 1 Award in Health and Safety In Construction; preparation for the CITB CSCS test and Green Labourer Card; Workplace First Aid, and an introduction to self-employment in construction.

Who can apply?
Adults aged 19+ living or working in West Sussex who want to start or advance a career in construction.

Dates:
28 September – 13 October 2026

Duration:
The Skills Bootcamp will take place on weekdays, running from Monday to Friday.

Who are Skills Bootcamps for?

Skills Bootcamps are open to:

Learners aged 19+ living and working in West Sussex
Adults in work with their employer’s agreement or who are who are seeking a career change or transition into a new industry.
Adults who are self-employed looking to grow their business. (self-employed learners who meet the eligibility criteria can access the programme for free).
Adults who are unemployed or looking to return to work and gain employment in a new industry.
Adults who have lived in England for at least three consecutive years and have the right to work in the UK (exceptions apply for Ukraine or Afghanistan nationals).
Adults who are not currently enrolled in any formal education, including another Skills Bootcamp.
