Students, staff, friends and family came together to celebrate the hard work, dedication and achievements of students over the past year.
And praising this year’s event, Dean Wynter, the college’s Vice Principal, Teaching and Learning, said: “I think this is the highlight of our year.”
The event was held at the Crawley campus in its immersive space along with the media studio.
There were amazing live performances by Performing Arts Students and a Hair and Beauty Through the Decades Showcase by Level 2 and 3 Hairdressing students and L2 Barbering Students.
Christine Bianchin, Principal of Crawley College, said: “Events like this are so invaluable to our college because it summarises what makes us special.
“We are all about supporting our students and seeing them succeed, and the chance to share the stories of these students is absolutely incredible, and it is my favourite night of the year.”
Dean Wynter said: “I think this is the highlight of our year. I think it’s been passionate. I think it’s in amazing achievements, both personally and academically. I think everyone are more than worthy of being stars.
“It’s so important to be able to celebrate, recognise all those achievements. Our Star awards this year were just phenomenal. And they were so well deserved. People have truly changed lives.”
Alfie Attwood, who won the Public Service Student award and the Brightest Star award, said: “I feel really proud of everything I’ve done, and I’m just happy with all my achievements I have done this year across my course.
“I wasn’t expecting the award at all, so I just want to say ‘thank you’ to my teachers and everyone for giving me both my awards, and I am still just in shock that I have won the Star of all Stars.
“I am going to continue what I am doing and am going to go into the Public Services level three course and go into a placement in the industry.”
The Star Award winner for Childcare and Education, Divine Namugerwa, said: “The awards ceremony is really good because it encourages us to work more, be more hard-working and it’s like, a very good way of appreciating us – though sometimes we do not what we do is seen, but we know that someone sees us.”
