Pride and Excitement as Crawley College Students Achieve Results Success  

Nerves accompanied celebration in the air as students from Crawley College joined their friends and family to finally receive their Level 3 results.  

Students began arriving on campus from 9am to receive their long-awaited results and discover what their next steps would be.  

Emotions were heightened as students arrived with friends, family and loved ones, with plenty reflecting on the academic year just gone, and their aspirations for after receiving their results.  

Students were welcomed into the Longley II with a fabulous balloon arch, bringing smiles all around as the college community came together to recognise the hard work and determination that had led them to this moment, with their results finally in hand.  

John Wai was another of the students to excel with their results, as he received a distinction in Creative Media Production.  

Sharing their excitement about the future, he said:  

“I am very happy with the results. I’ll be going to Royal Hallway studying theatre, doing a foundation course. Teachers were very nice and helped me through some struggles, and when I had a roadblock, they would help me get over that. Many of my friends influenced some of my ideas.”  

When asked about his time at the college, he added:  

“I would recommend the college as it’s local, accessible and has a wide variety of people. My Advice is not to be reserved and do whatever comes to your mind, as I made a documentary about horses and it was the most intrusive thought I had, but it turned out to be a great project. So just do it!”

Another of the brave students to receive their awards was 18-year-old Ryaan Malik, as he achieved a distinction in T Level Electrical Engineering.  

He discussed his happy surprise with his results, as well as dreams to become a systems engineer, saying:  

“I thought I didn’t do well, but I got a distinction. I feel great. I wasn’t expecting the best, but when the exams came, I realised the teachers had taught me everything I needed. I’m planning on being a systems engineer, but I am taking a gap year before I go on to do an apprenticeship. College was good, but the people were great; my friends kept me focused but also not too serious, so we could still have fun.  

“I would recommend the college as the location; the teachers and people are great, as they kept the lessons fun but also taught me everything I needed. My advice would be to not take things seriously. You do have to do well, but you will get stressed out if that’s all you focus on.”  

Celebrations extended beyond the college campus, with students using FaceTime to share their results with friends and family. Among them was Konan Duffy, who called a friend unable to attend the event.  

After receiving a Distinction in Performing Arts, Konan reflected on his college experience:  

“I did pretty well, and I feel happy. I am moving on to the next level on this course. A highlight has been the mornings where we can all see each other, and all our energy rises up as we see each other. I would recommend the performing arts course.”
