Willmott Dixon Deliver Real-World Insight to Crawley College Students
Crawley College recently welcomed Steve George from Willmott Dixon, who delivered an insightful talk to students covering a wide range of topics across the construction industry.
Steve, who works as the Regional Safety, Health & Environment Lead, also visited Brighton MET College and Chichester College over three days, engaging carpentry students to help them learn about their chosen career.
His talks also discussed the range of opportunities within the industry and covered just how fantastic the construction industry is.
The sessions focused on the safe use of tools, with an emphasis on handheld tools and methods to reduce hand injuries, a significant risk within the industry.
This highlighted to students the importance of the safe use of hands when it comes to equipment, using a range of extremely engaging and interactive activities.
Christine Bianchin, Principal of Crawley College, said:
“The safety of our students, both during their training and as they move into employment, is always a top priority. Welcoming industry experts like Steve George helps ensure our learners develop the right habits early, particularly around the safe use of tools and injury prevention.
“We are proud to collaborate with partners like Willmott Dixon to help shape a skilled, safety-conscious next generation of construction professionals.”
