Level 1

OCN L1 Dip Carpentry & Joinery

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery is an ideal entry course to introduce you to the carpentry and joinery sector and develop your hand techniques. The trade is suited to those who are practically minded, hands- on and are interested in training with wood-working techniques, materials and methods used in the industry.

You will be learning in our workshops to help you develop your skills. This includes training with handheld tools, including handsaws, planes and chisels, and portable power tools, such as power drills, power saws, planers and routers and power sanders. As you develop your confidence and abilities with these tools you will mark out and produce woodworking joints and frames.

The structure of our programmes follows clear educational aims that are expected from the awarding bodies. These are all outlined in the programme specifications which include further details such as the learning outcomes.
