Electrical Installations (Building & Structures) Diploma – Level 2

COURSE OVERVIEW

These qualification are intended for those who want to gain the knowledge and abilities that will enable to obtain the underlying knowledge to progress onto a Electrotechnical Apprenticeship programme.

The level 2 qualification is designed for new entrants to the industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need.

It is divided up to 50% workshop, practical experience learning how to install and connect various circuits, using different types of containment systems and constructing various bend and learning how to complete dead electrical safety test. The second 50% is classroom based where you will the theoretical side.

How it is assessed – There is 4 online multi choice exams, 1 x 10 hour practical assessment and 6 health & safety Assessment. (this could change during the summer if C&G bring out new update)

Progression routes- progress to level 3 2365 or 5357 apprenticeship

Equipment required – basic hand tools, steel cap boots, text books and writing equipment -see attached sheet

Attendance- I would like to minimum of 90%, but it will probably be the same as the rest of the college.

Course length- level 2 is 1 year for both full time and part time

FURTHER INFORMATION

This course is suitable for learners who desire a career in the Electrical industry.

You must be at least 16 years of age and have achieved both GCSE English and Maths at grade 3-9. Also your interview may include practical & theory assessments. All candidates will undertake a colour blindness indicator assessment.
