COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations will build upon the practical skills and principles you have gained from the Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation. The course covers a variety of subject areas, including:
- Understanding the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technologies and systems.
- Principles of electrical science.
- Fault diagnosis and rectification
- Inspection, testing and commissioning,
- An electrical design project.
Environmental technology systems classes will explore the principles and regulatory requirements relating to renewable energy.
We also explore the workings of electrical supply systems, applications of DC machines and AC motors, electrical lighting systems and electrical heating.
You will learn how safely fault diagnose and carry out inspection and testing of complex electrical systems.
A large section of the level three qualification is electrical design. This design unit will draw together all your knowledge acquired from other units, including those studied at level two.
Classes will also be dedicated to career planning. You will spend time planning for own career development and setting goals to help realise plans.
FURTHER INFORMATION
It is essential that you have:
- Level 2 in Electrical Installation (2365-02 or equivalent).
- GCSE Maths and English with at least a grade 4.
- A good understanding of electrotechnical principles.
Completing this qualification will assist you in finding employment. You could pursue further City & Guilds qualifications, such as Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services or an Inspect & Test course
You will be assessed through on-line examinations, written knowledge questions and a detailed design project.
