COURSE OVERVIEW
This award provides the underpinning knowledge in electro technology and safety needed for anyone planning to take up a career in this industry. The certificate can be taken within a centre environment and will support learners taking an apprenticeship in electro technical engineering. This certificate combines generic electro technical knowledge with optional units in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures).

This course is suitable for those who wish to build on their Level 2 knowledge of the Electrical industry. Or to help support those that wish a career in this field but who are not yet employed in it and would like to build up their CV and gain this qualification to enhance their chances of employment as an electrical improver or gain an apprenticeship and eventually become an electrician.
Learners must have GCSE English and maths qualifications at grade 4 or above

Cost Information for students aged 19 and over on the start date of their studies.
Students aged 19 and over may be entitled to a Bursary payment to help with costs such as travel to College, trips and equipment and childcare. To qualify you must be resident in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria which will include evidence of your financial circumstances.
Learners aged 19 and over will therefore have the option to either:
- Pay the course fees themselves
- Have an employer/sponsor pay the course fees for them

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.
What next?
Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
