COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Art are designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to Degree level study or employment in the performing arts.
This comprehensive course is perfect for students who are passionate about honing their skills in communication and collaboration with peers through group work. The Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts will equip you with the knowledge in performance, skills in Dance & Drama, and understanding needed to excel in the performing arts industry, whether you aspire to pursue further education at degree level or secure employment in the field.
Throughout the course, students will develop a range of essential skills including research, detailed planning, performing at a high standard, problem-solving, and reflecting on their progress. The stimulating and demanding course structure provides a supportive environment for students to explore, develop and test their creativity, making it the perfect steppingstone from general to more specialized study.
The Diploma course is completed over a one-year period, while the Extended Diploma extends over two years. Students will have the opportunity to delve into various disciplines such as dance, drama, production skills, leadership, and creative roles like director or choreographer.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Students should have 4 x GCSE’s at Grade 4-9 must include English & Maths and at least one of which should be in Dance or Drama.

Students must achieve a Merit on the Level 2 Course and a Grade 4 in Maths & English.
Students should be advised that some university degree courses require students to have gained a GCSE at 4 or above in Maths and English. Students must complete these qualifications prior to applying for the Level 3 Diploma to ensure they have the best possible chance to progress to Higher Education. The Diploma attracts 30, 60 or 84 UCAS points and the Extended Diploma attracts 72, 120 or 168 UCAS points for PASS, MERIT, DISTINCTION grades.

Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts qualification will be delivered through eight units over a nominal one-year period. Crawley College Professional Staff have designed assignments that will provide the learning necessary to enable the student to achieve the assessment criteria. The length and complexity of the assignments, and the specific performing and production arts activities which students are asked to engage with are written specifically by the tutors at Crawley to ensure that the courses meets the needs of the local community.
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts The qualification will be delivered through 12 units over a nominal two-year period.
Year 1 Diploma- Units 1-8
Year 2 Extended Diploma – Units 9-12
