COURSE OVERVIEW
The course is split into four phases. During the first three phases of the course you will study the topics listed below covering system & component identification, installation requirements, regulations, operating principles, testing & commissioning procedures, decommissioning, fault diagnosis & repair and system maintenance.

At the end of each phase you will be required to take and pass an online exam and a practical assessment. During the first three phases you will also be required to complete an on-site portfolio covering the core topics.
Once you have completed the first three phases you can move into the final phase which covers the topics:
Domestic Core Safety for Natural Gas
Gas Wet Central Heating Systems
FURTHER INFORMATION
Candidates will be in suitable employment in a Plumbing firm and will have maths and English CGSEs at grade C/4 or above
Continuous employment in trade, career prospects and progression to management or owing your own business.
These units are aligned with the current ACS Gas Qualifications and once achieved allow you to apply for GaSafe registration. Again you will need to pass online & practical assessments and complete a second portfolio focused on gas installations.

There is no cost to an apprentice.
If you are an employer employing an apprentice over the age 21 (without an EHCP) then you are likely to pay 5% towards the training cost.
If you are an employer with an Apprenticeship levy (i.e. your payroll exceeds £3 Million) then you will pay in full from your levy account.
Students attending this course will be expected to provide their own tool kit and personal protective equipment and will also be expected to get textbooks to help their study
