COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is a great place for you to start if you want to study a practical, hands-on course and would like to pursue a trade working with bricks and mortar. The course is a great introduction to the construction sector and has a specific focus on bricklaying.
We have a spacious and equipped workshop for you to learn how to complete blocklaying, bricklaying and cavity walling activities. You will learn how to use the tools and materials, allowing you to develop your skills in building straight brick walls, return internal and external corners and junctions.
The course has a practical focus and is complemented with theoretical information, which includes learning how to interpret drawings and specifications, calculate area and linear measurements, and ensuring you meet health and safety requirements.

If you are 16-19 you can join our full time provision.
Adult learners 19+ can join our part time provision which is delivered 2 evenings a week
After completing the course you can progress to Level 2 construction, or T level
You will be assessed throughout your programme of study through observation, theory and practical assessments and portfolio building.
Learners will be given a list of equipment at interview.
You will be expected to wear PPE when working in our workshops
The structure of our programmes follows clear educational aims that are expected from the awarding bodies. These are all outlined in the programme specifications which include further details such as the learning outcomes.
