This course is designed for learners aged 19 and over, working within the automotive sector or public service sector. There are no pre-requisites for this single unit qualification, however, it is recommended that learners will have 3 GCSEs, or Scottish Standard Grade/Intermediate in Mathematics, English and a Science based subject.

This unit is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid (all variations) vehicles and require safety awareness. It is suitable for non-technical people such as managers, valeters, parts, sales and electric/hybrid professional vehicle drivers. It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles and the precautions to avoid potential injury.

- Safe working around electric/hybrid vehicles including charging
This qualification will help support progression onto qualifications that further develop their knowledge and skills within a technical role, carrying out diagnosis, repair and testing of high voltage components on Electric/Hybrid vehicles at level 3.
