Domestic Gas Safety Re-Assessments – CCN1 & Appliances

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course covers all aspects of gas safety relating to the installation, commissioning and servicing of the domestic gas appliances.

Core Domestic Gas:

  • Gas safety regulations Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
  • Unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • Gas pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
  • Tightness testing and purging (covers both low pressure and medium pressure installations)
  • Checking meter regulator emergency control valves
  • Appliance burner pressures and gas rates
  • Flues and ventilation
  • Combustion
  • Combustion performance analysis (flue gas testing)
  • Appliance control

Appliances covered:

  • Central heating (CENWAT)
  • Cooking Appliances (CKR1)
  • Gas Fires and Wall Heaters (HTR1)
  • Meters (MET1)
  • Warm Air Heaters (DAH1)

FURTHER INFORMATION

This course is for those working with gas and who hold a current CCN1 certification.

If your certification has expired by more than 12 months of the assessment date, it will be necessary to undertake the initial assessment.

The re-assessment can be taken up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the initial qualification without losing out (MOT style). Candidates who already hold CCN1 certificates and wish to extend their scope of work (i.e. have CENWAT and want to add CKR1) must provide to the Assessment Centre written evidence documenting the guided learning hours indicated in the About Course section. We will also require evidence to show that you have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 6 months (extension of scope only).
