Domestic Gas Safety Initial Assessment and Appliances

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course covers all aspects of gas safety relating to the installation, commissioning and servicing of the domestic gas appliances. Core Domestic Gas:

  • Gas safety regulations Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
  • Unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • Gas pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
  • Tightness testing and purging (covers both low pressure and medium pressure installations)
  • Checking meter regulator emergency control valves
  • Appliance burner pressures and gas rates
  • Flues and ventilation
  • Combustion
  • Combustion performance analysis (flue gas testing)
  • Appliance control

  • Cooking Appliances (CKR1)
  • Gas Fires and Wall Heaters (HTR1)
  • Meters (MET1)
  • Warm Air Heaters (DAH1)
