Courses at Crawley College
From January 2023, Crawley College will be offering short courses that provide and introduction to coding for both Python and C# programmes.
INTRODUCTION TO CODING – PYTHON
The aim of this course is to introduce the programming language Python. The course is designed to teach the tools one by one, giving exercises that allow you to practice each element. Students learn programming by programming! Python is an excellent language for beginning programmers allowing students to develop their skills further after completing the course or easily switch to another programming language.
INTRODUCTION TO CODING – C#
C# is the most popular language developed by Microsoft and this course is designed to support students to learn this language. Thousands of companies use Microsoft technologies in their infrastructure that rely on C# and it is a popular language for creating web services. The aim of this course is to introduce the programming language C# on an industry standard IDE. Don’t worry, we will explain what IDE stands for! This is an interactive course that allows you to practice each element working towards creating high-performance apps in C#.

Good question! The courses are generally blended, that means a mix of learning online and in the classroom. This does vary depending on the course, but you’ll find more information about this on individual course pages.
Yes! Our CODEs courses are free to all students, aged 19+ and are fully funded through the Skills Development fund.
We would recommend completing one course before starting another, but there’s no limit how many you study. We’d also encourage you to start with the introduction course, before progressing onto the intermediate course.
