Crawley College in the Spotlight: A Place of Innovation, Opportunity, and Hope
We recently welcomed Polly Toynbee, columnist for The Guardian, to take an innovative dive into our Crawley campus.

Polly’s visit was the perfect opportunity to showcase the innovation, ambition and community spirit that defines our college.
Featuring in a national publication is a powerful reminder that our work is being seen, valued, and celebrated beyond just our local area.
Polly reported:
‘The enthusiasm is catching. I visited Crawley College, with its specialist “green village”, already training up thousands for green jobs. A house sliced in half teaches them about insulation techniques, heat pump installation, retrofitting and energy savers of all kinds. Walking around an FE college is always a reminder that these are places of hope. Teachers here talk emotionally of second chances for those who have been failed, of lives turned around and eyes opened by the extraordinarily wide range of courses. Colleges can expect a new burst of life from now on.’
The focus of the feature was based on the recent government update on their aim to create 400,000 jobs through the UK national green energy plan.
Our Green Village is a standout example of how further education is evolving to meet the demands of a changing world equipping students with the skills needed for the green economy and these sustainable careers.
The purpose of the village is to raise awareness of climate change, de-carbonisation and green technologies. As well as being a resource all students access, it also is open to schools, residents, and employers.
We are proud to be recognised as a college that inspires hope, delivers innovation, and opens doors. And we are just getting started.
