Crawley College inspires next generation at family fun day
Crawley College once again welcomed hundreds of people to the college as part of an inspiring day of family fun.
STEM at the College took place in May – a key feature of the town’s annual STEM at the Park event, which takes place in the Memorial Gardens every year.
Staff at the college organised a whole range of family-friendly activities, including showcasing immersive spaces – giving children an opportunity to explore ‘underwater’ environments or experience the four seasons in five minutes.
They could also enjoy ‘green screen’ filming, see inside an ambulance and learn CPR on a life-like simulation model, change a tyre and ‘weld’ a metal phone holder. Just a few of the free activities provided, all designed to inspire future generations to the opportunities STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects can bring.
Dean Wynter, Vice Principal at Crawley College, said: “What another amazing day at Crawley College! We were delighted to once again welcome families to the college for a great day, showcasing some of our fantastic facilities.
“This year, we were able to debut our immersive spaces, which offer limitless learning possibilities to our students, and to our local community as well.
“We welcomed hundreds of people through the day, and it was fantastic to see so many young children enjoying their day – hopefully we’ll have inspired a few young minds to push the boundaries of their imagination!”
