Ambulance service apprentices graduate through special ceremony

Crawley College honoured the achievement of 11 apprentices from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) last night. 

The special ceremony, which took place on Thursday evening (16 March), saw graduates, their friends, family and lecturers, celebrate the completion of their level 4 diploma for Associate Ambulance Practitioners (AAP).

The 18-month apprenticeship combines both studies at the college’s specialist facilities alongside to training while on the job.

Sally Challis-Manning, Crawley College Principal, said: “What a fantastic evening the SECAmb Graduation was.

“This particular apprenticeship is crucial for the important roles which our frontline ambulance crews provide to the community.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates and the dedication and effort they have put into their studies over the last 18 months.

“We wish them all the best in their future careers with the South East Coast Ambulance Service.”

The AAP apprenticeship provides practitioners with the skills they need to respond to call outs and assess, treat and manage patients at the scene, wither referring them to alternative care providers or safely discharging them.
