COURSE OVERVIEW
Our one day course is designed for candidates who wish to gain knowledge of installation, commissioning and servicing of unvented hot water systems in accordance with current legislation.
The course covers:
- Relevant aspects of Water Regulation, Building Regulations, British Standards and other relevant legislation
- Unsafe situations and emergency actions
- Commissioning and servicing
- Installation requirements
- Safety controls
- Pipework
- Testing
The course runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm and is also available at our Chichester Campus.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is for those looking to renew their expiring qualification, however those looking to undertake the course for the first time should have a recognised competence in a conventional fuel, i.e. gas (CCN1), oil (101), or solid fuel or a relevant plumbing qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, as follows:
- NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent
- Appropriate industry registration scheme: e.g. Gas Safe Register – ACS or OFTEC – 105E or equivalent
- At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent NVQ Level 3.
- At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
After completing the Unvented Hot Water course you will be able to join the Competent Persons Scheme and self certify your own work. The qualification lasts for 5 years and will need renewal after this time.
You will be assessed via a mixture of written and practical assessment.
Course cost: £250.00
The course cost includes the NICeic certification fees.
An Unvented Hot Water book is required and is supplied by the college.
On the day, candidates will need to bring with them:
- Copies of your original expired/expiring certificates
- Note pad and pen
- A calculator (smart applications are not permitted)
