COURSE OVERVIEW
You will study the latest standard of the IEE wiring regulations, including essential subjects such as safety, selection and erection of electrical equipment. You will cover these key elements in the course:
- Scope, object and fundamental principles
- Definitions
- Assessment of general characteristics
- Protection for safety
- Selection and erection of equipment
- Inspection and testing
- Special installations or locations
- Appendices
This course can be delivered in the evening and is also delivered at our Brighton and Chichester Campus.
FURTHER INFORMATION
The course is ideal for anyone working in the electrical industry who needs to be up to date with the latest 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (released 28th March 2022).The 18th Edition is the industry standard for anyone working with electrical installations in the UK. The IET has stated that from January 2019, all electrical work carried out in the UK must comply with the 18th Edition.
We advise that candidates who have completed the 17th Edition (without the 3rd Amendment) should complete the 3 day course rather than the 1 day update as there are substantial changes to cover.
On successful completion, candidates may wish to proceed onto the:
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial Verification (2391-50)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection & Testing (2391-51)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Inspection & Testing (2391-52)
Candidates will complete one multiple choice online test.
Please be aware that to allow for exam registration there is a cut-off date for booking 1 week prior to the course start dates.
Course costs:
£455.00 – 3 day update
The course cost includes registration with the awarding body and examination fees.
Each candidate must provide his/her own copy of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition: BS 7671:2022 Requirements which may be purchased online from the IET, Institute of Engineering & Technology. During the multiple choice online exam, candidates will require access to a copy of BS 7671 and a non-programmable calculator.
