COURSE OVERVIEW
The AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting provides a solid foundation in accounting principles, preparing you for entry-level roles such as Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, and Payroll Administrator. It also offers progression to advanced qualifications like AAT Level 3 and 4, and can lead to chartered accountancy with bodies like ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW. This course is ideal for beginners, career changers, and those looking to enhance their accounting skills.

Introduction to Bookkeeping:
- Understanding manual and digital bookkeeping systems.
- Learning the principles of double-entry bookkeeping.

Entry Requirements:
- No Formal Qualifications Required; however a good understanding of basic math and English is essential to be successful on this course.
Skills Needed:
- Attention to Detail: Essential for tasks such as bookkeeping and data entry.
- Analytical Thinking: Helpful for analysing financial information and solving problems.
- Organisational Skills: Important for managing your studies and practical assignments.
Exams and Assessments:
- Computer-Based Exams (CBEs): Each unit is assessed through CBEs. These exams provide immediate results.
- Synoptic Assessment: This assessment tests your understanding of the connections between different topics covered in the course. It includes multiple-choice questions, numeric gap questions, and written answers.
The pass mark for the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting is 70% for each exam. This applies to both the individual unit assessments and the synoptic assessment.
Students are required to register with AAT. This is a one-off fee of £180 for UK students.
