STEM in the Park Celebrations Bring Community Together at Crawley College

27 May 2026

There was a real sense of excitement in the air as Crawley College hosted ‘STEM at the College’, an annual celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

The event formed part of the wider STEM in the Park festival, held in Memorial Gardens adjacent to the college, which offered fun for all the family across both the gardens and campus.

Visitors enjoyed a wide range of interactive activities, including remote control car races in the recently opened Sussex & Surrey Institute of Technology building, alongside tabletop exhibits and immersive games in the Longley II building.

In the college’s Immersive Suite, a 360-degree projection experience allowed children to take part in quizzes and explore a variety of dynamic environments.

This year also featured Team Northbrook Racing, Northbrook College’s student racing team, which showcased one of its vehicles. Visitors also had the opportunity to see an airfield operations vehicle recently donated by London Gatwick Airport.

Christine Bianchin, Principal of Crawley College, said:
“It was fantastic to see so many families and young people engaging with STEM in such a fun and interactive way.

“Events like this are all about inspiring curiosity and opening doors to future careers, and we’re proud to play a role in bringing our community together to explore the exciting possibilities within science, technology, engineering and maths.”
