Crawley College ready to inspire next generation at family fun day

30 April 2019

Crawley College will be throwing open its doors this May for an inspiring day of family fun.

STEM at the College will be taking place on Saturday 18 May, from 11am to 4pm, as part of Crawley’s STEMfest activities.

The college will be running a whole host of family-friendly activities in its engineering and technology blocks, designed to inspire future generations to the opportunities STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects can bring.

There will also be an opportunity for visitors to explore the college’s state-of-the-art engineering and IT facilities and call in to 58 Restaurant and Cafe for some refreshments.

Vicki Illingworth, Principal at Crawley College, said: “We’re very excited to be hosting our first ‘STEM at the College’ this year.

“We have a long association with STEMfest, but this year we’re taking it one step further to really showcase the subject as well as our facilities here at the college.

“Our facilities will be awash with hands-on activities that we know visitors of all ages – from children to the young at heart – will love exploring.

“STEM subjects give students so many amazing opportunities and inspire young people to push the boundaries of their imagination – from robot and drones to virtual reality. The sky is the limit!”

And as it’s being held on the same day as STEM in the Park, at the town’s Memorial Gardens – why not take time to enjoy both events for a fantastic, free day out that’s fun for all the family.
