Why choose this course?
This Level 1 carpentry programme develops foundational woodworking ability through safe tool handling, joint construction and construction-principles knowledge. Learners build accuracy and confidence in a workshop environment that prepares them for trade apprenticeships or Level 2 qualifications.
The course runs 2 evenings per week 6pm-9pm – generally Monday & Tuesday (days to be confirmed at interview).

Progression includes Level 2 Site Carpentry, Bench Joinery or carpentry apprenticeships. Learners may also access T Level Transition for advanced technical pathways in the built environment.
Assessment includes seven timed practical tests, online multiple-choice theory exams and supervised workshop tasks ensuring safe technique and reliable skill development.
Equipment and reading lists will be discussed at interview.
