About the course

This Apprenticeship Standard will include the CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (England) (Adult Care pathway only) as the mandatory qualification. With support from Crawley College, you will develop and maintain examples of your work through on-programme training to meet qualification criteria within an electronic portfolio.

Your on-programme training will consist of the following elements:

  • Completion of The Care Certificate
  • Completion of CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care
  • Achievement of Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Completion of Self-Assessment Exercise

After the completion of on-programme training and in consultation with your employer, your End Point Assessment (EPA) will be booked. This will usually happen at least 12 months into the Apprenticeship.

Your End Point Assessment will be made up of 2 separate elements and will be carried out by an Independent End Point Assessor:

  1. Situational Judgement Test
  2. Professional Discussion

Following the successful completion of your End Point Assessment you will be awarded a grade of pass, merit or distinction.

WHO CAN JOIN?

This Apprenticeship Standard is suitable for those who are employed in a role within residential nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centre work, or clinical healthcare support, which will allow the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the standard to be evidenced and met.

Candidates must undertake a recognised enhanced disclosure and barring service check and complete a basic skills assessment to confirm appropriate levels of literacy and numeracy prior to enrolment onto this Apprenticeship Standard.

Applicants are also required to undertake and evidence the completion of The Care Certificate via a high quality induction process to satisfy the elements of the Adult Care Worker Standard.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED

Candidates will be assessed within the workplace by their employer and assessor/trainer and will be supported through monthly reviews, observations of workplace competency and the completion of the CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
