This is a studio based class that each week uses props and setups as inspiration to enjoy the process of drawing from observation and to develop observational drawing skill. This is a drawing class exploring traditional concepts of space, form, tone, line and simple shapes. Students will experiment with a range of materials and approaches to investigate the subjects as sketches and studies. These explorations will be developed in the drawings produced from direct observation.
Tutor: is an artist working predominantly with drawing and painting. Observational drawing remains at the centre of her practice.
This course is suitable for students with any level of experience including beginners. Working directly from observation students will be introduced to formal aspects of drawing such as composition, tone, form, space and pictorial structure. Through exercises and experiments you will explore a range of topics and approaches.
April 2019 course fees £100
You will also need to obtain an A2 sketch book, pencils (2H, B, 2B, 6B), an eraser and/or putty rubber and willow charcoal.
