About the course

Health Care and Childcare are two of the most rewarding and complex industries to work in. Due to the responsibility, compassion and professionalism that you are required to have in these industries it is important that you are fully trained and understand what is expected of you.

This course is designed to provide you with the best possible understanding and skills in both of these areas, which will enable you to make a informed choice for you and your career.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Applicants must have one or more of the following;

  • 4x GCSEs at grade 2 including English or Maths

  • Successfully completed Introduction Certificate to Health and Social Care and Childcare

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED

You will be asked to produce a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme, which will then be marked internally.

Costs/EQUIPMENT

Students 16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. Please note: You may be entitled to a Bursary payment to help with costs such as travel to College, trips and equipment, a food allowance and childcare. To qualify you must be resident in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria which will include evidence of your financial circumstances.

Attendance requirements

3 days a week. A full timetable will be given to you at your induction.

AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE

Once you have completed this programme you will be able to decide if you want to continue with a career in Health and Social Care or Early Years Childcare at Level 2.
