Inspiring HE Week at college group aims to raise aspiration

Chichester College Group (CCG) held its first-ever ‘Higher Education Week’ recently.

The week was developed with the aim to help inspire students across the five colleges – which include Brinsbury, Chichester, Crawley, Haywards Heath and Worthing Colleges – to consider their next steps.

Students were able to attend a series of online talks, webinars and workshops and activities, including six talks from guest experts from companies including BAE Systems and American Express.

Lianne Grogan, Higher Education Progression Coach at Chichester College Group, said: “We had a fantastic week with a huge amount of engagement from our students at all five colleges.

“We were really inspired by the successes of national campaign weeks, such as National Apprenticeship Week, and we wanted to focus students’ minds on what happens next, thinking about their higher education options.

“The employer talks really helped to showcase graduate level employment opportunities and students’ routes into those pathways – as well as providing an insight into the skills they need to develop.”
