Academy Awards at Central Sussex College
23 June 2017
Staff, students, friends and family got together for the inaugural Academy Awards at Central Sussex College as part of the end of term activities.
The evening affair celebrated the high quality and standard of work produced by IT and Creative Media students, who have spent the academic year creating an impressive range of work from music videos and animations to photography, TV dramas and much more.
Access to a modern, interactive learning environment complete with cutting-edge technology has provided students of all different levels the ability to explore new software and even design interactive video games, some of which are able to be displayed through a VR headset!
The department of IT and Media’s manager Dan Creed explained how the Academy Awards has proved to be the perfect way to celebrate achievement whilst saying a fond farewell to those students who have finished their studies. “The showcase is really about highlighting the students’ creative work and having the opportunity to collectively celebrate the incredible work they have produced this year”.
Students not only welcomed the opportunity to show off their work, but also to see what their fellow colleagues have made, one Level 3 IT student commented “It’s just really nice to see what everyone else has produced and I’m in awe of the level of creativity in our group”.
Central Sussex College staff and students now look forward to seeing what next year’s students will come up with once they return alongside a new group of students.
