Central Sussex College has been celebrating a particularly good year for A Level results at its Sixth Form Haywards Heath campus today (Thursday 18 August).
With an overall pass rate of 99%, surpassing the national average of 98.1%, students and staff were delighted with the results. Vice Principal of Curriculum at the College, Clare Wallace commented, “Results day is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students as well as the hard work of our staff, and this year is no exception. We’re extremely proud to see 75.4% of our A Level students achieve top grades of A* to C, an improvement of 2.5% on last year, with many progressing to their first choice university.”
Among this year’s high achievers was Toby Collen, 18, from Haywards Heath, who achieved an impressive suite of A*s in Chemistry, Biology and Maths. “I received an email and a text confirming my place at the Royal Veterinary College before I came in so I knew my results were good”, explained Toby. “I’m really happy with them and I’m looking forward to going to my first choice university to study Veterinary Science.”
Another high-flyer was fellow eighteen year old Samara Potter, also from Haywards Heath. Samara, who achieved A*s in Photography, Craft and Design and Fine Art, commented, “I’m really pleased with my results and I can’t wait to celebrate with friends.”
