Central Sussex College takes on the National Workplace Challenge

28 January 2016
Central Sussex College is getting active as part of the Community Sports Partnership Network’s (CSPN) National Workplace Challenge 2016.

29 members of staff from the College’s Crawley and Haywards Heath campuses have signed up to the eight week challenge which runs from 4 January to 28 February and aims to get businesses and employees engaged in sport and physical activity.

Staff members participating in the challenge have been logging their sport, physical activity and active travel on the workplace challenge website, earning points for each activity.

After a gruelling first week, the College finished an impressive third on the Active Sussex Workplace Leaderboard.

The College’s Senior Designer and Web Developer, Heinrich Ferreira, has already seen the benefits of the challenge commenting, “The experience has been a big motivator for me to get back into shape. I lost my motivation to exercise before Christmas when the rainy weather arrived. I'm very competitive so the chance to pit myself against others on a leaderboard based on exercise performance was the perfect opportunity to get back into my fitness regime. I'm so engaged now that I'm preparing for another 100 mile cycling sportive this summer. I'd be lying if I didn't like the bragging rights of being top spot in the organisation too!”
