New rugby season underway

Central Sussex College is gearing up for another sensational season of rugby at the Sixth Form Haywards Heath.

After securing second place overall in the Rugby Football Union (RFU) South East Colleges seven-a-side tournament last season, the College’s team are getting ready for a number of scheduled county league and cup matches that are coming up over the next few months.

In preparation, the College has been working closely with Sussex RFU Community Rugby Coach, Mick Orton, to ensure that the rugby provision at the College can continue to grow successfully.

Sports lecturer at the Sixth Form, Ben Dewey commented, “Coming runner-up in the Rugby Football Union South East Colleges Tournament last season was an incredible achievement for the team. There seems to be a real buzz around rugby at the College this year, and we’re feeling really positive about the new season.”
