An industry expert from Devolver Digital led an inspiring talk about the gaming industry at Crawley College’s IT Academy – a state-of-the-art facility which features the very best gaming, virtual reality, networking and editing equipment.
The talk was a great opportunity for Creative Media and IT students at the College, who are currently creating animations and producing virtual reality games, to get expert feedback and recognised for their particularly outstanding work.
Dan Creed, the Head of Learning for IT, Creative Media and Engineering, commented: “This is a great chance for students who have never done games design to begin to learn how to build, code and test games they are building themselves. The important point here is to encourage creative thinking and professional approaches to project development”.
The IT Academy at the College continues to offer a modern, interactive learning environment complete with cutting-edge technology and software, as well as enhancing the digital and computing skills of young people and those already working in the IT industry.
Dan Creed explains that “recently the IT Academy has invested in a Developers Kit for the Microsoft HoloLens to support students in learning about augmented reality as well as this is a great way of developing education tools for a future generation”.
Students at the College will now be given more time to improve their games and animations based on the feedback from an industry expert before the College holds its annual IT and Media Showcase Event on 20 June 2018 from 4 - 7pm, open to everyone.
