David has been involved with training and education for most of his career, at first as a Training & Development Officer in the Royal Air Force, then in industry. This has given him a special interest in the links between employers and education providers, something he has pursued through working as a governor of a number of schools and colleges.
Since 2000 David has run his own Learning & Development consultancy, specialising in leadership and management development. He has worked with clients from the manufacturing, banking, oil & gas, retail, services and public sectors, and his projects have taken him to continental Europe, South-East Asia and the Middle East.
A keen linguist, David speaks fluent French and Spanish, with slightly rusty German. His qualifications include a degree in languages, a PGCE in Further Education, and an MBA. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
David has lived in Horsham since 2003. He is a keen cyclist and may be spotted on the local roads most Sunday mornings wearing Horsham Cycling kit and a grimace.
David is Chair of the Audit Committee and is an ex-officio member of the Search and Remuneration Committees.
