Unvented Hotwater Supply Commisioning & Servicing


Our one day course is designed for candidates who wish to gain knowledge of installation, commissioning and servicing of unvented hot water systems in accordance with current legislation.

The course covers:

  • Relevant aspects of Water Regulation, Building Regulations, British Standards and other relevant legislation
  • Unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • Commissioning and servicing
  • Installation requirements
  • Safety controls
  • Pipework
  • Testing


This course is for those looking
to renew their expiring qualification, however those looking to undertake the
course for the first time should have a recognised competence in a
conventional fuel, i.e. gas (CCN1), oil (101), or solid fuel or a relevant
plumbing qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, as

  • NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent
  • Appropriate industry registration scheme:
    e.g. Gas Safe Register – ACS or OFTEC – 105E or equivalent
  • At least two years industry experience of
    installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently
    un-certificated skills equivalent NVQ Level 3.
  • At least two years industry experience of
    design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems at
    NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
