COURSE OVERVIEW
You will be able to experiment and discover a variety of art and design techniques and further develop your own creative and technical skills. You will explore painting, drawing, photography, print-making and range of 2D and 3D techniques. You will also develop your own portfolio of work that will support your progression onto further courses. Every learner at Crawley College who is under 19 will undertake a personal Study Programme designed to develop them academically, practically and personally.
- Subject Course – Vocational or chosen Academic subject, usually studied for 12 – 16 hours a week.
- English and Maths – Every learner will work towards GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths or Functional Skills. Learners who have already achieved a Grade 4 or C will extend their English and Maths through in-class activities.
- ACES
You will have specific time in your timetable for each of the three elements above and you will be expected to attend all elements throughout the year. Study programmes are designed to help you meet your maximum potential and progress to the next level of study or into work.

The course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to progress to Level 3 study in a variety of art and design subjects.

You will be assessed throughout your course using a variety of methods. Your Art work produced will be assessed to ensure it meets the criteria of the assessment – however this could include animations, 2D and 3D work, exhibitions and presentations, as well as your portfolio of work undertaken throughout your time on the course.
Students aged 16-18 will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. Please note: You may be entitled to a Bursary payment to help with costs such as travel to College, trips and equipment, a food allowance and childcare. To qualify you must be resident in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria which will include evidence of your financial circumstances.
