COURSE OVERVIEW
OFTEC training is designed to provide confidence for the technician and peace of mind for the customer. It is important for safety and environmental reasons. Ensuring that technicians undertake appropriate training and assessment is central to OFTEC’s competent persons scheme.
Our course covers the following OFTEC scopes of registration:
- OFT10-600A: Written assessment of installation requirements for oil fired appliances and oil storage tanks.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is designed for those who are looking to renew their qualifications, however individuals who wish to complete these for the first time must fall into one of the following two categories:
Category 2: Individuals with relevant skill, knowledge and/or experience – e.g. people who have already gained relevant experience in associated activities such as plumbing & heating, gas fitting and service engineers etc. Individuals must provide original relevant qualifications. Category 3: Those who are regarded as new to the oil industry, and do not hold any national qualifications in a related field nor have any related work experience. The applicant must:
- Obtain experience with an OFTEC registered business which is willing to provide an auditable extended oil training programme incorporating both On and Off the Job components with organisational support prior to the applicant taking OFTEC assessment. Evidence of the contents of the programme detailing the Off the Job training and On the Job experience must be presented to the AC as above
AND
- Undertake a training programme (OFT50) at an OFTEC approved training centre, which is planned, managed and organised by the training centre
On completion of the course you will gain relevant OFTEC qualifications that last 5 years and allows you to register for OFTEC’s competent persons scheme.
This course covers both training and practical assessment, along with written exams.
Course cost: £510.00
The course cost includes certification fees with NICeic.
On the day, candidates will need to bring with them:
- Copies of your original expired/expiring certificates
- Note pad and pen
- A calculator (smart applications are not permitted)
Relevant OFTEC books will be need to be purchased as these are not supplied by the college, these can be purchased from the OFTEC Direct website.
