Managing Change in the Workplace

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will cover the impact change has, how to help staff to deal with the change, and some of the practical strategies for successfully plan a change process.

The course will cover:

  • Exploring the reasons for change and our psychological reactions to it
  • Managing the reactions to change and their impact
  • Strategies for effective planning for change
  • Putting the management of change into practice

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Identify reasons/drivers for change in the workplace and reasons that changes often fail
  • Describe people’s possible attitudes and responses to change at work and likely impact
  • Explain what a team leader or manager could do to successfully support staff
  • Identify other potential barriers to change and how these barriers could be overcome
  • Describe a strategy for planning the practical stages of successful change
  • Describe what is necessary to ensure that planned changes stay in place

This is suitable for any staff member who works in an ever changing environment and wishes to develop methods as to how to manage this change.

This is also beneficial for managers wishing to review the way they lead and organise their team during change and how they can adapt their style.
