COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed for those aged 19+
The course enables learners to develop further their computing knowledge, skills and promote safe internet behaviours. You will be supported to use and understand a variety of Microsoft applications. The aim is to improve confidence in using a range of digital resources including online shopping sites and internet banking.
Our tutors will help support you to develop your computer skills and enable you to access a range of digital services safely.
Regular attendance is essential for you to succeed and work will be set to continue to develop your skills outside of lessons. We recommend you allowing sufficient time for self-study to practise skills on the course.
The course runs for 2 hours on a Thursday morning (9.15-11.15).
Please note this course is Free for adults who meet the eligibility criteria which is based on an initial assessment.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is designed for those aged 19+. This is a FREE nationally recognised digital skills qualification that has an exam at the end of the programme for those adults who meet the eligibility criteria which is based on an initial assessment. You can work on content from the comfort of your own home. However, we would recommend those who are beginners to digital skills complete the digital skills for Beginners course first before progressing to this programme. There is a short assessment at the start because we need to ensure that this course is the right level for you.
After completing the course you may wish to consider progressing to the level 2 digital course. This develops your programming skills and starts you on a digital career.
The programme is assessed through activities during the programme and a final exam set by the awarding body. Tutors will provide support on the exam throughout the programme to prepare you for the assessment.
As part of the adult skills offer in the Centre for Digital Excellence you may not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. To qualify you must be resident in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria which will include evidence of your financial circumstances.
