IMI L3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling (EC842-2006) (VRQ)
COURSE OVERVIEW
Many motor vehicle technicians have limited experience or qualifications demonstrating their competence in air-conditioning components and systems. This qualification will provide you with the opportunity to develop new Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) skills and enhance existing ones. This DEFRA approved qualification meets the legislative F-Gas requirements for EC842/2006 and annex EC307/2008.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Individuals should already have a basic knowledge of the operation of Air Conditioning Systems in motor cars, the environmental impact of refrigerants and procedures for environment friendly recovery of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Achievement of this qualification allows experienced automotive technicians (working with cars and car derived vans) to continue to legally work with air conditioning after 4th July 2010 in accordance with EU F-gas regulations. Learners can also study further specialist automotive qualifications.
In order to pass this qualification, candidates must demonstrate its learning outcomes by following and achieving its 2 assessment components: Practical Assessment Multiple Choice Online Test
