COURSE OVERVIEW
This course enables learners to develop further their computing knowledge, skills and promote safe internet behaviours. You will be supported to use and understand a variety of Microsoft applications. The aim is to improve confidence in using a range of digital resources including online shopping sites and internet banking.
Our tutors will help support you to develop your computer skills and enable you to access a range of digital services safely.
Regular attendance is essential for you to succeed and work will be set to continue to develop your skills outside of lessons. We recommend you allowing sufficient time for self-study to practice skills on the course.
The course runs for 2 hours on a Thursday morning (9.15-11.15)
Please note this course is Free for adults who meet the eligibility criteria which is based on an initial assessment.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is suitable for people with very basic computer knowledge. You will further enhance your digital and computer skills, confidence and gain a qualification. Your will complete simple assessment at the start of the course to ensure this is the most suitable course for you.
Following completion of this course you will be able to progress onto Introduction to Python or a further computing course. Please speak to your tutors about possible next steps.
The course is assessed through online activities that you will receive feedback from your teacher. You are supported to work at your own pace to achieve a recognised qualification in Essential Digital Skills Entry Level, from Gateway Qualifications. You will be expected to sit an online assessment towards the end of your course.
As part of the adult skills offer in the Centre for Digital Excellence you may not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. To qualify you must be resident in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria which will include evidence of your financial circumstances.
