COURSE OVERVIEW
This City and Guilds level 3 in computer aided design is a well respected qualification in industry. It is ideally aimed at people who work / intend to work in a design / drafting position or where people produce CAD technical drawings in any discipline, ie, mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, civil, architectural etc. Engineers who wish to further develop their AutoCad skill and knowledge and gain certification. The course is run in the evening to support students who may work during the day to attend.
FURTHER INFORMATION
There is no prior AutoCad knowledge required as the course includes the basics in drawing content that would otherwise be covered in the lower level 2 course. Students will progress steadily over the course duration to become competent to intermediate / advanced level in 2D drawing with the software.
Progression on to the AutoCad 3D level 3 course. Progression in to a design / drafting role in the workplace. Self employed people who produce 2D drawings for customers. Anyone who wishes to advance their current AutoCad knowledge to produce more complex drawings.
Assessment methods are in the form of two practical assignments undertaken at intervals throughout the academic year along with a written exam at the end of the year. In addition, some homework may be set for students to carry out at home to help further their learning in a timely manner. For this, students would benefit from access to the AutoCad software which can be downloaded free of charge from the AUTODESK website.
This is professional commercial course. The cost of the course is £1250 which covers tuition and exam fees.
