C&G 6002-21 L2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing (Cutting & Colour)
COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification is for learners with an passion in the Hairdressing Industry. The qualification covers cutting and colouring at level 2 working in a commercial salon carrying out services on clients.
The qualification is achieved on completion of a practical and theory exam at the end of the course, this can be discussed further during your application.
Entry requirements are to have achieved English, Maths and Science at GCSE at grade 4 or above.
Learners interested in the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks.
Compulsory topics include:
• Principles of practice of hairdressing
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Style, set and dress hair
• Cut hair using basic techniques
• Colour and lighten hair
Compulsory fees for 24/25 : £150
FURTHER INFORMATION
School leaver who has achieved a Grade 4 or above in English and maths. A passion for the hairdressing industry and creativity
Progression onto Level 3 Hairdressing or into a salon for further experience either Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
The Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing could lead to a job as a Hairdresser working in one of the following establishments:
• Hairdressing salon
• Hotel
• Cruise Ship
Formative assessment on clients providing essential individual feedback from the lecturers on progress made. Constructive feedback will prepare the learner for the final theory and synoptic practical exam. Services to be carried out on clients are consultation and aftercare, cutting, styling and colouring hair. The end exam is 2 hours 40 minute theory exam and a 6 hour practical exam.
