COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification is designed for learners aiming to enter the esports industry or progress to further education. Endorsed by The British Esports Association, it is recognized by employers across various roles within the industry.
The qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers, professional bodies, and education providers to ensure the content is current and aligned with industry needs. The qualifications focus on building essential knowledge, technical and practical skills, and behaviours relevant to the sector.
The unit ensure learners gain comprehensive skills while also developing transferable abilities like communication, teamwork, and planning. Learning is applied through practical, work-related tasks that encourage real-world engagement and the development of workplace behaviours. This approach ensures learners can immediately apply their skills in diverse employment contexts.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is suitable for 16-18 who have achieved GCSE in Maths at a 4 or higher.
If an applicant does not achieve this by the start of the course, they will be offered a place on a Level 1/E3 course (either Media or IT) where they will have the opportunity to build their subject specialism skills and focus on achieving 4 or higher in their Maths and/or English GCSE
Learners may choose to progress to further study, such as Level 3 Nationals in Esports, Information Technology, Creative Media, Sport, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, or Business.
Endorsed by The British Esports Association, the qualification is recognized by employers across various roles in the industry. It also prepares learners for potential progression into related sectors, such as events, digital marketing, or creative media
Learners taking this qualification will study four mandatory units:
Unit 1: Esports Games, Teams and Tournaments – Internal assessment
Unit 2: Establishing an Esports Organisation – Internal Assessment
Unit 3: Streaming for Esports – Internal Assessment
Unit 4: Plan an Esports Event.- Internal Synoptic Assessment
The qualification includes an internal synoptic assessment, completed towards the end of the program. It evaluates sector-related knowledge and technical skills, ensuring sufficient challenge and reflecting learning across the course.
